UNIABUJA TEAL- WHITE SEMINAR 2016...A Cervical Cancer Awareness Seminar.

No fewer than 64 in every 100 women diagnosed of cancer died annually, 47.7 million female aged 15 years and above are at the risk of cervical cancer. The needless deaths can be curbed because cervical cancer is one of the most preventive forms of cancer, according to a study by Cancer Global Crisis card, of the 14,550 cases of cervical cancer diagnosed in women of 15- 44 years of age annually as many as 9,659 of them die.

Based on this  facts, “QUEEN OF EMERALD NIGERIA CULTURE 2016 - QUEEN RITA JONNAH  a humanitarian driven queen, seized this opportunity to offer her assistance in imbibing the culture of creating deeper awareness on the symptoms, causes and ways to prevent and treat  cervical cancer if early detected to the populace.
 
Hence her Project Tagged: UNIABUJA TEAL-WHITE SEMINAR
 
UNIABUJA TEAL-WHITE SEMINAR is a one day packed educational seminar on cervical cancer for University of Abuja students and two (2) other invited neighbouring schools.
The seminar will feature a short video play on cervical cancer, Invited Doctors and resource persons from different hospitals and cancer foundations in Abuja to educate us about the deadly disease, cervical cancer. 
 
This ,she believes will create awareness of cervical cancer in Universities which has more than 7000 - 10,000 female population and it will help participants recognize the early signs and symptoms of cervical cancer, importance of pap smear test and to educate participants about the key risk factors of cancer since more than 30% of cancer cases could be prevented by avoiding this risk factors.
 
The project is been supported by The  First lady of Kebbi state - Dr. Zainab Bagudu(Founder Medicaid Cancer Foundation), Prof. Micheal U. Adikwu -Vice Chancellor of  University of Abuja,, Stand Up To Cancer Foundation, AHTV (Africa Health Television), Lewis & Lewis Consults, Solcare Med - Consults etc
